For the beauty of the earth, For the beauty of the skies,
For the love which from our birth Over and around us lies,
Lord of all, to thee we raise This our grateful hymn of praise.

Poetry Lapbook

We have finished our Poetry Lapbook for April, National Poetry Month. We found a free lapbook at Homeschool Share via Facebook. All the poems were available, free, online. We even found a few interesting posts from various sources.

The Quarrel--video of 2yo who has memorized the poem.

The Negro Speaks of Rivers--voice recording of Langston Hughes telling how he came to write the poem, then reading it.

I used two file folders (cheap manila colored :)), cut off the tabs, then glued them together so there would be three pages when opened.  If that doesn't make sense ask me and I'll try to post more specific pictures. I let them organize the pages as they'd like after I figured out which ones could fit on a page together. Therefore, it isn't exact like it would be if I, or some other adult, had organized it, but it's theirs.
