Graceful. That's what they are becoming. All those little girls, and a few boys, that I've watched through a rectangular window since they were as young as three years old. Their little chubby legs that tripped them up at the beginning, now long and slender. Their poise is becoming perfected. They don't look like those little children anymore, they are beginning to look like real, graceful ballerinas and danseurs.
That's how the Christian walk is, I think. We start out stumbling. We look kind of funny to our friends and relatives. Many of them don't think we'll make it. Some think it's a passing phase. But slowly, with a lot of practice, and a whole lot more self-discipline, we begin to become the graceful people God desires us to be. Sure, we still trip up and don't perform perfectly, but now we know how to be humble enough to recover and carry on.
A mature dancer works to perfect each move in order to be more graceful, how much more important is it for us to perfect the Grace of God in us so we can show the world around us just how full of Grace He is.
